Muppets, Music & Magic: Jim Henson’s Legacy, A Weekend of Movies, TV Shows and Other Fun Stuff!

Nov. 20-21, 2004 - The Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) and The Jim Henson Legacy worked together to produce a two-day series of film screenings, educational workshops and guest speakers. Material screened ranged from commercials and experimental films to Muppet movies and television projects. Guest presenters and speakers included Kevin Clash, Stephanie D’Abruzzo, Carroll Spinney, Jerry Juhl, Jerry Nelson, Cheryl Henson, Lisa Henson, Jane Henson, Kathy Mullen, Michael Frith, Fran Brill, Robbie Barnett, Craig Shemin, Bonnie Erickson, Martin Baker, Karen Falk, and John E. Kennedy. Gawky Birds from the Henson Family Collection were displayed in the Lobby. Additionally, a study guide was created for The Art of Puppetry and the Legacy of Jim Henson. The majority of shows played to Standing-Room-Only audiences.
