Jim Henson Family Matinees, Silver Spring, MD

September 20 – October 25, 2003 - A month long series of screenings at the AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center in Maryland, took place in conjunction with the dedication of the Jim Henson Statue at the University of Maryland.  All AFI Silver screenings were sold out.

A Tribute to Jim Henson (September 25, 2003) - An evening of Jim Henson’s television work, including The Muppet Show and examples of the early work he did in the Washington area, including Sam and Friends. There was a panel discussion featuring Harry Belafonte, Martin Baker, Al Gottesman, Diana Birkenfield, Jane Henson, and AFI Silver VP and Executive Director Murray Horwitz..
