The Muppets at Lincoln Center: A Tribute to the Life and Work of Jim Henson, New York, NY
September 1-26, 1993 - This month long program consisted of film screenings, videos and guest speakers reminiscing on their work and experiences with Jim Henson. All screenings were held at the Walter Reade Theater. The theater also hosted an exhibit featuring flat art and storyboards relating to the various screenings presented throughout the month. Events and screenings featured as part of the program were:
Jim Henson: The Early Years of the Muppets (September 1, 1993) - A presentation by Jane Henson featuring a selection of Jim Henson’s early work in television and film, including a screening of Time Piece.
Labyrinth (September 4, 1993) - Presented by Jerry Juhl.
Jim Henson’s The Storyteller: The Soldier and Death & Dinosaurs: Nature Calls (September 5, 1993) - Brian Henson presented the episode of Dinosaurs.
The Muppet Movie (September 11, 1993) - Presented by Jerry Juhl.
An Afternoon with Jerry Juhl: A Behind-the-Scenes Look at the Muppets (September 12, 1993) - Jerry Juhl presented the episode of The Muppet Show featuring Edgar Bergen and discussed the evolution of the Muppet characters and conducted a Q&A.
Fraggle Rock: Beginnings & CityKids (September 15, 1993) - Members of the cast and crew of CityKids were on hand for a Q&A session.
The Great Muppet Caper (September 18, 1993) - Presented by Jerry Juhl.
The Muppet Show & Miss Piggy’s Fantasies (September 19, 1993) - Two episodes of The Muppet Show were screened, along with Miss Piggy’s Fantasies, a compilation of fantasy moments featuring Miss Piggy.
The Dark Crystal (September 22, 1993) - Presented by Frank Oz.
The Jim Henson Hour: Dog City & Jim Henson’s Dog City: Ya Gotta Have Heart (September 25, 1993) - Presented by Michael Frith and Kathy Mullen.
