Jim Henson’s World screening, Don’t Eat the Pictures, at Museum of the Moving Image

In November, audiences in the Museum of the Moving Image’s beautiful Redstone Theatre were treated to an on-screen visit to a different museum with the Sesame Street gang. The 1983 TV special, Don’t Eat The Pictures, features the cast getting locked in the Metropolitan Museum of Art while looking for Big Bird. Ernie and Bert explore American art, Grover visits medieval armor, and Cookie Monster has an unhealthy appetite for impressionism.

Jim Henson Legacy President Craig Shemin introduced the screenings and author Jake S. Friedman moderated panel discussions with special guests including Chris Cerf, David Zetlin-Jones, Noel MacNeal, Martin P. Robinson, Richard Termine, Stephanie D’ Abruzzo, and Andrew Cassese.
