Saturday Night Live Land of Gorch Puppets at Museum of the Moving Image, New York

Almost 50 years after they were created for Saturday Night Live’s first season, six puppets were installed at Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria, NY. Items from the Henson collection donated to the museum by the Henson family are rotated into The Jim Henson Exhibition in order to expand the storytelling and preserve the puppets. The Gorch characters were restored by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop before making their debut at the museum. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful craftsmanship and learn about an important moment in Jim Henson’s history.
