Jim Henson Washington-Area Bus Tour

On May 19, 2023, Heather Henson, Craig Shemin, Karen Falk, and a group of friends and family boarded a coach bus for a driving tour of sites in the area associated with Jim and Jane Henson. On a route researched and planned by Craig and Heather, they started at the University of Maryland’s Jim Henson Statue, and visited both of Jim’s childhood homes in Hyattsville, Jim’s Alma Mater Northwestern High School, Jane’s college-years apartment, WRC-TV’s first studio (1947-1958) in the Wardman Park Hotel Tower, and WRC-TV’s “new” studio on Nebraska Avenue (1958-present). The group finished at the David C. Driskell Community Park in Hyattsville, home to the Jim Henson Courtyard.
