The Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta, GA is home to The Worlds of Puppetry Museum featuring The Jim Henson Collection, a permanent exhibition of puppets, props, and costumes as well as special exhibitions. For more information, see Center for Puppetry Arts.


Museum of the Moving Image in Queens, NY includes The Jim Henson Exhibition, a permanent display of puppets, props, costumes and archival material as well as extensive media. For more information, see Museum of the Moving Image.

The Leland, Mississippi Chamber of Commerce hosts a Jim Henson exhibit at their "Birthplace of the Frog" visitors’ center on Deer Creek. The National Museum of American History, Smithsonian Institution, in Washington, DC holds a significant collection of puppets donated by the Henson family including the characters from Jim Henson’s first television show, Sam and Friends. For more information, see NMAH.


The Strong Museum of Play in Rochester, NY holds a large collection of Henson licensed products donated by the Henson family. The museum is also home to a permanent interactive exhibit, Can You Tell Me How to Get To Sesame Street. For more information, see Museum of Play.


The University of Maryland Libraries in College Park have a large Henson video collection accessible to the public in their reading rooms. For more information, go to Jim Henson Works. They also house archives from Sesame Workshop (formerly The Children's Television Workshop), the producers of Sesame Street. They have public hours and offer research assistance.
